AAUW is a national organization that has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1881. For more than 130 years, we have worked together as a national grassroots organization to improve the lives of millions of women and their families.

Many localities have affiliate groups, called “branches,” that work together to further AAUW’s mission and to support one another. Each branch has its own characteristics, but they all reflect AAUW’s mission and values.  How can that happen?  In Ohio, the statewide organization helps its 21 branches by listing activities that each branch should aim to include during the year in order to be a Model Branch.  Branches that achieve the requirements are given awards at the Ohio Annual Meeting and Convention or the District Meetings.  Ohio also makes awards to branches that promote diversity and those that contribute to our National AAUW Fund.

AAUW Ohio offers scholarships to help college women attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL).

GET EMPOWERED— This year, AAUW invites hundreds of college women from around the country for three days of virtual leadership training, inspiration and networking May 30 – June 1, 2024 in the DC aread.  AAUW’s annual conference, The National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL), brings together more than 800 young women from around the country for leadership training, networking and inspiration. They enter the conference as passionate leaders and leave it with the skills and confidence to pursue their goals. The diversity of backgrounds and ideas at NCCWSL is part of what makes it such a transformative experience. The workshops, panels, speakers and activities provide endless opportunities to learn from experts, while peer networking allows women to learn from one another and make lifelong connections.  Read more..
